What You Need to Know to Create Relevant Ads that Increase Your Bottom Dollar

Uncategorized Jun 29, 2020

Have you ever seen an ad reminding you to use your coupon code before it expires? Do you ever wonder how they know your specific coupon is about to expire? The short answer is this company is utilizing the powerful feature of remarketing and they have a clear sales funnel in place.

If you have ever wanted to create ads that speak directly to where your audience is, then this is the article for you. Creating ads that resonate, are highly relevant, and increase your overall sales is easier than you may think. Let’s increase your sales funnel conversion rate and get you more revenue with a simple tool called a Facebook Pixel.

Step 1: Facebook Pixel

So you may be wondering what a Facebook Pixel is? Well, it is a small piece of web code that collects information on different people that visit your website. The Facebook Pixel will allow you to create ads that speak directly to your audience and in turn, increase your overall sales rate and bottom line.  With the Facebook Pixel, you can track who visits your site, what action they take on your site, and serve them specific ads based on the action they took on your website. Installing a Facebook Pixel is very simple and will likely only take you a matter of minutes

As soon as the pixel is installed on your website you will start collecting this valuable data. Regardless of whether or not you are ready to start running paid ads, installing a Facebook Pixel will set you up for success. If you are ready to install your very own Facebook Pixel I have just the thing for you. A free mini-course called The Remarketing Lab: Facebook Pixel 101. This course takes you through quick actionable lessons and shows you exactly how to set up your Facebook Pixel.

Step 2: Sales Funnel

After you have your pixel installed the next piece of the puzzle is to have a clear sales funnel. In order to create ads that resonate with your audience, you have to know where you are leading your audience and what process you are taking them through to get to your final product or service. A sales funnel is the journey a person goes through from first learning about your brand to making a purchase. You want to get specific.

Think about how long a person will spend in each part of the funnel, and what you will do if they opt-in or if they don’t opt-in. Having a game plan in place gives you a structured timeline to create specific ads that increase your overall conversion rate on your sales funnel.

Here is an example of my specific sales funnel. I build awareness mainly through social media and paid ads. I share testimonies and statistics that show people it is possible to increase their revenue with Facebook & Instagram ads. Then, I peak their interests through a free mini-course that helps them take action and sets them up for success to run ads today or in the future. You may choose to peak their interests through a free guide, challenge, webinar, or training. After they consume your free gift (for me it’s a mini-course), then they start receiving emails that give added value to the course and offer a discount for my paid program.

For me, the mini-course takes about a week to consume and the discount code is good for 5 days. It’s important to know roughly how long a person will be in each part of your sales funnel so that you can begin to build ads around those deadlines.

Step 3: Set Up Custom Conversions on Your Website

To create specific and high converting ads, you will have to need to track the action people take on your website by setting up custom conversions. Then map out where people fall in your sales funnel based on the action they just took on your website. For example, if you have a free mini-course you are promoting to a cold audience, then once someone opts-in to your course you do not want to keep serving them ads to take your free course.

Tracking both people who opt-in and people who land on your landing page that don't opt-in will allow you to customize your ads based on their action. For example, you can continue serving ads to people that land on your landing page but don't opt-in addressing some common objections to opting-in to your freebie. This creates more relevant ads that can increase your bottom dollar.

Setting up these custom conversions to trigger on your website is not hard. I have the perfect resource to walk you through step by step how to set these up on your own website.
